In order to gain the energy that we need to raise our state of awareness, we eventually will explore the movement of our life force: the life force is sometimes called the kundalini, ki, or chi energy: it is the power of awareness that resides within us and all things. It moves within us just like blood flows through our circulatory system or water flows over the earth. By deliberately increasing the flow of kundalini energy, we begin to break out of our normal ways of perceiving and thinking.
What we think of as normal is, in a sense, abnormal: we have created an extremely limited definition of reality based on thoughts and words that we have been taught. A word is just a symbol representing an aspect of reality. It is not reality itself. It is at best a poor representation. If we didn’t speak English, or any other language, life would still exist in all its glory. But we confuse words with reality and settle for a narrow definition of what is real. In meditation, we go back to the true immense reality without words or thoughts.
The life force rises up within us and literally melts our fixed ideas as it seeks a new level. In the meditation on the energy centers, we concentrate and focus on a point in our energy bodies, and as the life force rises to this point though the power of our concentration, we experience a profound shift in consciousness. We experience life directly, the life force is what gets us there.
