Day 5 of The Living Flow Challenge – Work as a Vehicle for Transformation

Run Time 5 min

In our experience,  people who truly practice meditation and mindfulness are the most focused and successful people that you’ll meet. They are happier too!

A study in the Journal of Neuroscience suggests people who regularly meditate may improve their mental focus and positively alter brain function. Compared to non-meditators, they seem to be better at quieting brain activity allowing us to focus in a world full of distractions.

Yes, a strong focus can help you excel at whatever you are doing or working torwards! However, succeeding at work or school is not just about making money, being promoted, or getting good grades.

Those are definitely some nice perks, but success is ultimately about life being rewarding as an inner journey of evolution. When that happens, how we spend the bulk of our day is never downtime: it’s the canvas on which we paint the masterpiece that is us.

The way to improve focus and concentration is by clearing the mind of all thoughts and distractions. When we learn how to clear our minds, we become so absorbed in our actions that they just flow perfectly: we no longer need to think our way through everything.

Developing focus is like developing a muscle that we haven’t been using. At first, it may seem like nothing is happening, but the more times an exercise is repeated, you start to notice your strength and ability to concentrate has improved.Watch the video which describes how we can use our careers to expand ourselves and the way we approach “work” in unlimited ways.
